What are the different types of yoga you teach?Vinyasa Flow Vinyasa refers to the Sanskrit term for connection. In terms of a yoga asana (posture) practice, Vinyasa Flow classes will usually consist of a variety of asana (postures), from standing, seated, twists and inversions, linked together with movement and breath. The breath helps to build a basis that allows fluid movement through the sequence. Charlotte’s classes offer a wide range of options depending on your practice level so, whether you are an advanced asana practitioner or a complete beginner be rest assured that you are in safe hands under her guidance. You will leave the class feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and ready to take on the world. Dynamic Vinyasa Charlotte’s Energetic Dynamic Flow class is a vinyasa class, just at a faster pace. Expect to sweat and come out feeling incredibly energised. This class offers the chance to take those arm balances you’ve been working on, explore the world of upside down, and build on your strength and flexibility under the guidance of Charlotte’s expert eye of alignment. Yin Yoga Yin yoga works deeply into your body with passive, longer-held poses. It targets the deepest tissues of the body, the deeper fascia networks, and the meridians (energy pathways of the human body according to Chinese medicine). This practice is in contrast to a Yang yoga practice like Vinyasa Flow which looks at stretching and strengthening the muscles. Energetically, Yin Yoga improves the energy flow throughout the body and its organs, enhancing the flow of Qi to provide an overall sense of relaxation and positive health. Yoga Nidra Yoga Nidra, also known as 'Yogic Sleep', is an ancient meditation technique where practitioners enter a deeper state of conscious relaxation, moving awareness from the external world to the internal. The most general description of the practice is that it combines guided mental imagery with a specific yoga posture called Savasana. Mandala Vinyasa Mandala Vinyasa yoga, is a practice that works towards a firm intention and established on the four elements that bring connection between you and each of the Elements in the Universe – Earth, Water, Fire and Air. During a Mandala Vinyasa class, you will be integrating the spiral patterns of nature, as there is never perfection nor straight lines in nature. You’ll explore circular movements with your body, moving around all four corners of the mat in 360 degrees. Beginners Yoga Beginners classes offers you the chance for an accessible and thorough introduction to a yoga practice. We will focus our attention on correct breathing (pranayama), basic asana (postures), relaxation, meditation, and a guide that will structure your practice to suit your personal needs. If you are brand new to the practice or need to brush up on a few skills, this course is for you
